Watts describe how fast a charger can deliver power, not how fast your device will accept it. An iPhone tops out around 27 W and a typical Android between 25 and 45 W, so a 65 W charger will not make either one charge faster. Where the extra headroom earns its money is laptops, tablets, and charging several things at once without everything slowing to a crawl.
Here is the part most listings leave out. A multi-port charger splits its wattage, it does not multiply it. Plug two devices into a 65 W three-port charger and it typically becomes 45 W and 18 W, not 65 W each. That is normal and it is how the standard works, but it matters when you are buying for a desk that has to run a laptop and a phone together. We publish the per-port split on every multi-port charger we sell.
Two things worth checking before you buy anywhere. GaN chargers run cooler and pack more power into less space than older silicon ones, which is why a modern 65 W brick is smaller than a 20 W charger from five years ago. And plenty of imported chargers arrive with a two-pin European plug that will not fit a standard South African wall socket. Ours are supplied to work here without an adapter hunt.
